Grant OpportunitiesProgram Funds Three-Week Study Visits to Japan for Teachers The Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program provides U.S. primary and secondary school teachers and administrators with the opportunity to participate in three-week study visits to Japan and to return home with a follow-on plan designed to introduce Japanese culture to American students. Meetings with Japanese teachers and students and a home stay with a Japanese family are also key components of the program. Maximum Award: round-trip travel to Japan, local transportation in Japan, lodging and meals for three weeks. Eligibility: full-time teachers or administrators at primary or secondary levels (grades 1-12). Deadline:December 7, 2006. SHOPA Kids In Need Foundation Up to $500 per award for innovative learning opportunities, Kids In Need Teacher Grants provide K-12 educators with funding to provide innovative learning opportunities for their students. The SHOPA Kids In Need Foundation helps to engage students in the learning process by supporting our most creative and important educational resource - our nation's teachers. http://www.shopa.org/shopa_foundation/teacher_programs.php "Best Buy" Teachers and schools successfully using interactive technology in the classroom may be selected to receive $2,500 gift cards from Best Buy. Educators in qualifying K-12 schools should complete and submit an application online. All accredited public, private, parochial and non-profit charter schools that are within 50 miles of a U.S. Best Buy store can apply. Schools must be located in the United States. Maximum Award: varies.
